This Privacy Policy describes how SDEC KARUNA JV SDN BHD (“the Company”, “we”, “our” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use the FASTEV mobile application and its associated services (hereinafter referred to as “FASTEV” or “the App”).

FASTEV is a digital platform that allows registered users to locate, initiate, and manage electric vehicle (EV) charging sessions and related services (“the Services”).

This Privacy Policy is formulated in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia and explains your rights and choices with respect to your personal data and privacy. By accessing or using FASTEV, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal data as described in this Policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 When you register for or use FASTEV, we may collect, including but not limited to the following types of personal information directly from you:
I. full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address;
II. account registration details (username, password);
III. vehicle-related data (e.g., EV model, identification); and
IV. payment information (processed via secure third-party gateways).

1.2 We may automatically collect data on how you use FASTEV, including:
I. app usage patterns and user interactions;
II. device information such as model, operating system, unique device identifiers;
III. log data including IP address, browser type, and access timestamps.

1.3 With your explicit consent, FASTEV may collect location information using GPS or network signals from your mobile device. This is used to:
I. display nearby EV charging stations;
II. facilitate route optimization and real-time station status; and
III. trigger geofenced alerts and station arrival notifications.

1.4 You may disable location tracking at any time through your device settings. However, certain features of the App may be limited or unavailable if location access is restricted.

1.5 By using the FASTEV App, you also consent to the sharing of your personal information as set out in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy, including with third-party service providers and EV station operators as required for the delivery of services.


2. PURPOSE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED
Personal data that you voluntarily provide to the Company may be collected, processed, used, stored, and disclosed to authorised third parties (including service providers acting on our behalf), in accordance with applicable laws and industry standards, including the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), for the following purposes (“Purposes”):

I. To manage, authenticate, and facilitate account registration and user transactions;
II. To process and verify payments for EV charging sessions made through the FASTEV App;
III. To understand and analyse your preferences, charging behaviour, and service usage patterns;
IV. To develop, enhance, and improve the quality, functionality, and user experience of FASTEV and related services;
V. To personalise content and service recommendations tailored to your profile;
VI. To communicate with you, including responding to inquiries, handling complaints, and providing technical or customer support;
VII. To send you service announcements, system alerts, policy updates, and administrative notifications;
VIII. To deliver marketing materials including but not limited to promotional offers, rewards, loyalty programmes, special events, subject to your consent;
IX. To conduct internal audits, data analysis, and research to support service enhancement;
X. To comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, lawful requests by public authorities, or court orders; and
XI. To collect and utilise real-time location data (with your consent) to identify nearby charging stations, monitor service efficiency, and optimise station recommendations.


3. METHOD OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION
3.1 The manner in which we collect your personal data depends on the nature of your interaction with the FASTEV App. While the exact data collected may vary depending on the specific service or regulatory requirement, we generally collect personal data from you through the following means:
3.1.1 Direct interactions with you, including when you:
I. register for an account for our services through the FASTEV App or website;
II. update your user profile or EV charging preferences;
III. make payments, top-ups, or conduct transactions via the App;
IV. submit customer service queries, feedback, or complaints;
V. participate in surveys, promotional activities, or contests.

3.1.2 Personal particulars you provide, such as:
I. full name, NRIC/passport number, contact details including but not limited to mobile number, email address, residential address;
II. demographic data including race, gender, nationality;
III. vehicle details and charging behaviour; and
IV. photographs or images uploaded voluntarily or collected for user identification.

3.1.3 Automated means, including data collected when you use the FASTEV App or interact with our digital services:
I. device and browser identifiers, IP address, operating system, screen resolution;
II. date, time, and duration of your App session; and
III. cookies or similar tracking technologies used to improve system functionality and user experience.

3.1.4 Third-party sources, including EV station operators, payment gateways, loyalty partners, and service vendors who share necessary information with us in accordance with contractual obligations and legal requirements.

3.2 We collect your personal data lawfully, with your knowledge and consent where required, and only for the stated purposes under this Privacy Policy.


4. ACCURACY OF PERSONAL DATA
4.1 You are responsible for ensuring that the personal data you provide to us is accurate, complete, and up to date. You may update or correct your personal data at any time through your account settings in the FASTEV App or by contacting us directly.

4.2 We shall not be held responsible for any losses or damages arising from inaccurate or outdated personal data provided by you.


5. CONSENT AND WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT
5.1 By using the FASTEV App and providing your personal data to us, you consent to the collection, use, processing, and disclosure of your personal data as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

5.2 You may withdraw your consent at any time by providing us written notice and upon withdrawal:
I. we may not be able to continue providing you with certain services or functionalities of the App; and
II. your withdrawal of consent will not affect the legality of any processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

6. ACCESS, CORRECTION, AND LIMITATION RIGHTS
6.1 In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you have the right to:

In doing so, we ensure that your personal data is afforded a level of protection equivalent to the standards set by Malaysian data protection law.

7.2 All cross-border transfers will comply with the requirements under Section 129(1) of the PDPA.


8. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
8.1 The FASTEV App may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, or services (e.g., payment gateways, loyalty rewards, or external charging networks). These sites operate independently and are not governed by this Privacy Policy.

8.2 We encourage you to review the privacy policies of such third parties before submitting any personal data, as we are not responsible for their practices.


9. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION
9.1 In the unlikely event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights or freedoms, we will:
I. promptly assess the scope and impact of the breach;
II. take immediate steps to contain and mitigate the incident;
III. notify affected users without undue delay, where required by law; or
IV. Report the breach to the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) or relevant authority.

9.2 We will also provide appropriate support to mitigate further risk and help you take protective measures.


10. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
10.1 We may revise or update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal, regulatory, operational, or technological requirements.

10.2 Any material changes will be communicated to you through the App or by other reasonable means. The revised version will take effect immediately upon being posted, unless otherwise specified.

10.3 Your continued use of the FASTEV App after such updates constitutes your agreement to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.


11. SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
11.1 We are committed to ensuring that your personal data is protectedn accordance with PDPA and applicable industry standards.

11.2 We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, loss, or destruction of your personal data.

11.3 Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

11.4 We advise users to take precautionary measures such as: –
I. using strong, unique passwords;
II. keeping login credentials confidential; and
III. logging out of the App after each session, especially on shared devices.

11.5 In the event of a data breach, we will respond promptly and notify affected individuals and relevant authorities where required under applicable laws.
